PHILADELPHIA – On Wednesday, Sept. 23, the Philadelphia Eagles traded touchdowns for downward dogs as hundreds of participants unfurled yoga mats across Lincoln Financial Field for “Yoga on the Field.”
Presented in partnership with Independence Blue Cross, the sold-out event gave Birds fans a rare chance to stretch out on turf typically reserved for the “Tush Push.”
Dressed in midnight green, attendees gathered as the sun began to dip behind the stadium bowl. Certified yoga instructor and Eagles cheerleader Megan McKeon led the sunset flow, assisted by teammate and Pilates instructor Ashley Hillis demonstrating poses on stage.
For Ahnye Foreman, attending the session came down to the wire.
“I could only get a last-minute ticket, so I had to attend alone, but I’m so glad I decided to come,” Foreman said. “It was a great opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone, relax and do something for myself. Next year, I definitely want to plan ahead so I can bring my friends with me.”
Midway through the evening, team mascot Swoop made a surprise sideline appearance for photo ops.
The session concluded with a raffle featuring signed footballs from players—including running back Saquon Barkley—and copies of food creator Jamie Milne’s new cookbook, “Everything Delish.”
Following the workout, participants sampled recovery smoothies crafted by Milne, browsed copies of her newly released book, and took advantage of an exclusive 20% ticket-holder discount inside the Eagles Pro Shop.
With tickets selling out almost immediately this fall, fans hoping to swap their cleats for sticky mats will want to keep a close eye on the team’s wellness schedule when registration opens for next season.
