Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley spoke at a small political event in Glenmoore, Pa. on Oct. 25, emphasizing her support for President Donald Trump. Haley also discussed many foreign policies and the different ways that the president resolved certain pressing issues.
Regarding foreign policies, Nikki Haley said that Trump has been the first president to get out of the Iran Deal, and has created peace in the Middle East. “For decades, presidents have been promising peace in the Middle East and who other than Donald Trump did that?” Haley asked.
The former ambassador also explained how the president has done “great things,” such as being the only president to move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Israel. Regarding foreign aid, Haley described how America should not be paying countries to be friends with them. “One billion dollars went out to Pakistan for foreign aid, a place that harbors terrorists,” Haley said.
She then mentioned how Trump found a way to stop giving that money while also changing trade deals with foreign countries.
During the event, Haley also described what it was like to work with the president. Haley spoke about how she had a lot of requests when he was considering her role at the White House.
According to Haley, when she stated her terms, Trump was very receptive to them, and actually listened to what she had to say.
She told the crowd that she asked the president to make the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations a cabinet position, and Trump’s response was simply, “Done.”
Afterwards, the former U.S. ambassador offered more examples of how the president has been effective.
“Did you know Donald Trump has created many jobs and, under his presidency, the unemployment rate is currently at an all-time low?” she asked the audience. She also claimed that more women now had privately owned businesses and how the tax cuts were a tremendous break for Americans.
During her concluding remarks, Haley warned: “The second we give up being a country of laws, we lose everything this country was founded on.”
