MARPLE, Pa. — On Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 18 and 19, the Art and Design Club hosted an art sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the study lounge outside the art gallery for students and faculty.

The sale consisted of paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, and drawings. The artwork being sold included leftover pieces created by previous students at the college, pieces donated by current club members, and a collection of work from Assistant Professor of Studio Art Matthew Sepielli.

Everything being sold ranged from $1 to $10. In the final hour of the sale on Wednesday, everything left was sold for only $1.

The Art and Design Club is led by Lydia Kirkpatrick, who helped restart the club at the beginning of the semester after a significant period of inactivity. She pitched the idea of an art sale at one of the club’s first meetings.

The proceeds collected from the sale went to the club to support their future projects and programs. Emiliano Villagomez-Lopez, the club’s treasurer, said the club is planning on painting a mural at the college in the near future. The location of the mural is currently being decided by the college.
