MARPLE, Pa. – On Tuesday, September 16, the International Education Expo transformed the STEM Building into a cultural hotspot. The event kicked off with traditional music and the preparation of authentic dishes from Nepal, South Africa, Vietnam, Colombia, and France.
By late morning, once classes let out around 11 a.m., the expo was buzzing with activity as students lined up to sample an array of global flavors.
🇨🇴 Colombia served Arepas (ah-re-pah)—a golden maize disc filled with cheese, cilantro, and tomato.
🇮🇹 Italy presented Potato Gnocchi—soft dumplings with parmesan cheese and tomato sauce.
🇫🇷 France delighted visitors with Crêpes—thin sweet pastries filled with fruit and nuts.
🇻🇳 Vietnam offered savory Pho (fuh)—a rice noodle soup flavored with lime and fresh herbs.
🇳🇵 Nepal showcased Dal Bhat Takari (DAHL bah-HT Tahr-kah-ree)—a traditional dish of lentil soup, rice, and vegetable curry. Dal means lentil soup, Bhat is rice, and Takari refers to vegetable curry.
