MARPLE, Pa. — The Delaware County Community College Art Gallery hosted the annual A.F.A. Foundations Exhibit from Sept. 11 to Oct. 11.

The show featured artwork from students taking foundation art courses. Many are enrolled in the Art + Design Foundations Certificate program and the Associate in Fine Arts (A.F.A.) Degree program in Graphic Design, Photography, and Studio Art.

Artwork shown in the show was vetted through a judging process executed by faculty at the college. Select pieces received a Purchase Award, jointly funded by Educational Foundation and the Department of Campus Engagement. These pieces are now owned by the college and will be distributed across the DCCC campuses for students and faculty to enjoy for years to come.

Jayson Hice, a studio art major, had a few pieces in the show and won a purchase award.

“I’m so happy that I was able to get some of my artwork in the AFA Foundations Exhibit!” Hice said. “Seeing my work displayed along with many of my wonderful classmates has filled me with an immense amount of joy and appreciation for Fine Art and DCCC.”

He credited his instructors for his success.

“I couldn’t have done any of it without my amazing professors, constantly pushing and motivating me, always setting me on the right path,” Hice said.
